I don’t know if you are aware of this, but the original LIFX Kickstarter site from 2011 is still on Kickstarter:
Whoa. I just wanted to say that I am VERY impressed with the product marketing text where you share some thoughts about what to expect in the future etc. Every single of those ideas exist today in one way or another, and the thing that surprised me the most is that many of those technologies and features are smart home/IOT- “defaults” today, 9 years or so later.
Like for instance music visualisers via Bluetooth, the RGB standard, HSB/HSL, bulb/light schedules online, automatic light management…
I could go on forever, seriously.
Here’s what I’m getting at: Very few of these things/technologies were common and/or widely known in 2011-2012. All in all I think LIFX saw pretty far into the future crystal ball at the time, although I seem to remember 2012 was the year “smart lights” took off like a rocket.
Back to the future?
Say…@LIFX: you didn’t by any chance also fund a time machine on Kickstarter in 2011?
That would actually make sense and explain a lot
