Defective LIFX bulb?

I bought 2 LIFX mini bulbs, and got one of them installed fairly quickly. (I’m using Apple IOS, iPad and Google Home). The other bulb will still not install even after trying pretty much everything in your support section. I’ve reset the bulb, I’ve tried installing the bulb on multiple lamps, and still no go. When I go to Settings/Wi-Fi, the bulb appears under “set up new device” but when I select it, the check mark NEVER APPEARS. Is this bulb defective? Literally, I’ve spent 2 hours trying to install this one bulb. Thanks for any suggestions.
