Google home slower than Siri

When using Google home from phone or Home Mini, lights take a few seconds to receive command and turn on or off lights. Siri and Apple Home app is pretty much instantaneous.

Is this the current way it’s supposed to work? Does HomeKit have a better integration with lights?

Thanks in advance

Hi,

Google and Alexa are slower than Siri because Homekit is built into the lights and so the Siri is able to send messages over your local network, whereas Google and Alexa go through the cloud.

Thanks. I gathered the commands were going through local network only. Are there plans to get Google Assistant to work the same way or is the not possible with Googles assistant?

Unfortunately, Google Home does not currently have that capability.

And this is why HomeKit rocks: it works even if your internet connection is down (as long as your wifi is up).
